Despite torrential rain, the June 6 Bottle Drive at BWCC was a great success thanks to the dedication of volunteers and community support. Jimmy arrived early with his truck, trailer, and bins to sort incoming donations, and volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the day to process items efficiently.
Donations collected:
- 🦁 Wine and liquor bottles, cans — more than $500 in returnables
- 🦁 140 pairs of shoes and boots
- 🦁 100 pairs of eyeglasses
- 🦁 Well over 80 personal care and household hygiene items (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, moisturizer, feminine hygiene products, socks, hand soap, aluminum foil, sandwich bags, etc.)
Many hygiene items will be repackaged into smaller portions to serve more households. These generous donations will provide much-needed support to local individuals and families facing food insecurity and financial challenges.
Thank you to all participants and volunteers who braved the rain — your effort made a real difference.
Reminder: Bottles, cans, and other refundable items can be returned year-round to Jimmy’s: 1241 Honey Harbour Road, Port Severn.
