On March 6, the Baxter Ward Lions Club Inc. proudly hosted its first International Women’s Day Fundraiser in support of the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation, Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre, and La Maison Rosewood Shelter.
The event featured inspiring guest speakers, a choir performance, door prizes, gift bags, and a luncheon. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, local businesses, and sponsors, we raised more than $7,300.
🦁 Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation
Funds will support the “We See You: Inside and Out” Capital Campaign, a $20-million initiative to strengthen health care in North Simcoe and ensure patients, caregivers, and community members feel seen and supported.

🦁 Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre
The Centre successfully reached its $80,000 goal during its Annual April Cancer Awareness Month Campaign. Funds support essential programs and services, including the Brian & Anita Millett GAP Fund, which helps cover costs associated with out-of-area cancer treatments.

🦁 La Maison Rosewood Shelter
This emergency shelter provides housing and support for abused and/or homeless women and their children. The donation will help provide much-needed essentials and support services for those in need.

🦁 Thank You!
The Baxter Ward Lions Club extends its sincere thanks to all attendees, sponsors, local businesses, and volunteers whose generosity and support made this inaugural event a tremendous success.
